Relive the highlights from our 21st Annual Nordic Security Conference.
Over the past few years, global peace and stability have deteriorated. Power is shifting across multiple domains – between states, but also towards new actors, as rapid technological advancement give rise to non-traditional security stakeholders.
These developments are impacting regions across the globe. Democratic values are under increasing pressure, and the foundations of our political and security systems are being challenged from multiple angles.
Russias full-scale invasion of Ukraine has fundamentally altered NATOs posture towards Russia. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warns that the Alliance must be prepared for the possibility of war within five years.
While the future remains uncertain, one thing is clear: we must be better prepared for new, complex, and evolving forms of insecurity
How do we prepare for insecurity in a more fragmented world?
On 11–12 April 2026, NORSEC will bring together students, cadets, and young professionals from around 20 countries in Oslo to engage in critical discussions on foreign, security, and defense policy. By gathering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and practitioners, NORSEC aims to foster dialogue across borders, backgrounds, and perspectives – because tomorrow’s security challenges demand shared understanding today.

The event will take place in Fanehallen, located within the historic Akershus Fortress. Surrounded by centuries-old architecture and overlooking the Oslo Fjord, the venue offers a unique atmosphere that combines Norway’s rich history with a calm and scenic setting, just a short distance from the city center.
